Gatehouse into the Cistercian Abbey at Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland. Entry to the Abbey is through the Gate House in the West Range, originally the quarters of the lay brothers. The Gate House was built for defensive purposes when Boyle Abbey was occupied by the military. It contains a small museum or 'interpretative center' as they prefer to call it.
