Sacristy in the Cistercian Abbey at Boyle, County Roscommon, Ireland.
The sacristy was used for keeping vestments and sacred vessels and, like other
Cistercian abbeys, it is located next to the presbytery and the other rooms on
the ground floor of the eastern range. This room was remodelled during the
military occupation to include a fireplace on the upper floor and it still has
the doorway from the dormitory into the transept, known as the night stairs. It
has two doorways, on the group floor, one into the transept and the other into
the cloister arcade.
