The Hancock Museum is managed by Tyne and Wear Museums on behalf of the University of Newcastle upon Tyne.
The museum is within the campus of the Newcastle University. This also hold two other small museums; the Museum of Antiquities and the Shefton Museum. These are for Roman and Greek exhibits.
