South transept of the Cistercian Abbey at Sweetheart, Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. The memorial to Memorial to Lady Dervorguilla (d. 1289) who founded the Abbey. The night-stairs are to the right and these gave the monks access to the church from their dormitory. The wheel window at the top of the transept's outer wall enfolds the roof-line of the eastern range (which included the monks sleeping accommodation on the upper floor).
