Limestone Stela from the New Kingdom. Shed, the "Enchanter" stands on the left holding a snake, walking stick, Ankh and mace before the god Horus, Lord of the Sky. The Stela was used for protection or curative purposes; water was poured over it to gain the benefit of the God's protective powers before being used for food preparation, drinking, etc.
