The 'Swimming Reindeer' is from Montastruc in France and is carved form a singe piece of mammoth tusk and it was carved towards the end of the last Ice Age (c. 15,000 - 10,000 years ago) and it is the only three dimensional figurines known from Western Europe. It was made at the same time as the painted cave frescoes in the famous cases such as Lascaux, Niaux and Atamira.
