Mixtec-Aztec mosaic mask (Christy Collection, Ethno. St. 400), c. AD 1400 - 1521. The face has a stylized butterfly, in a darker blue, which is an emblem of Xiuhtecuhtli. Xiuhtecuhtli, meaning Turquoise Lord, was a fire god.
