Fragment of limestone Ostracon from Deir El-Medina and dating to the New Kingdom. Representation of the Goddess Astarte riding a horse is painted in red and black. Astarte is holding a long harness and also a stick or pole. It does appear that a bridle and saddle are being used, although Astarte is rinding bare-back.
