Egyptian offering table with Merotic script from Nag Gamus. Nag Gamus is an ancient archaeological site, likely a burial ground, located in Nubia (present-day Sudan). Archaeological research has dated the site to the Meroitic period. The Meroitic Period lasted from the third century BCE to around the mid-fourth century CE and it includes the second of two phases of the Kushite empire in what today is Sudan (the first phase was the Napatan era, c. 655 – 300 BCE).
