- Head of a statue of Tutankhamun, c.1336-1327 BC, 18th Dynasty, Reign of
Tutankhamun
- The distinctive 'war' headdress. The features of the face
suggest that it was commissioned during the reign of Tutankhamun, maybe
as part of the restoration of Amun's monuments that were destroyed or
defaced during the reign of Akhenaten (Amenhotep IV). As far as we know he did not actually engage in any warfare -
one of the usual necessities of all new kings in establishing their right to
rule.
